A General Election is highly likely to be called in 2024. After years of hostility towards people seeking safety, we now have the opportunity to build a system that protects and supports people seeking safety.
As part of the ‘Fight the Anti-Refugee Laws’ campaign, Asylum Matters has developed new resources to support local groups in engaging with prospective parliamentary candidates and calling on them to defend the right to seek safety in the UK.
The resources include two documents:
- ‘Building a compassionate refugee protection system’ a 2-page document setting out key principles and policy asks for parliamentary candidates;
- ‘Campaigning ahead of the 2024 General Election‘ which collates different resources and tips around campaigning in a General Election year and ensuring your work keeps within charity and electoral commission rules.
